In another stunning example of the incompetence of the Biden Administration, a highly intoxicated man was able to break into the home of National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan in April. Despite the residence having state-of-the-art security systems and around-the-clock protection, this person was able to sneak by Secret Service agents who were too busy on their personal phones to notice the intruder.

Fortunately, Mr. Sullivan was able to escort the man out of his home without incident. However, the fact that the agents charged with protecting our nation’s leaders cannot even stay off their phones while on duty is deeply concerning. What if this intruder had been a hostile foreign agent or a violent criminal intent on doing harm?
It’s even more concerning that the Secret Service’s initial response was to blame “human error,” as if that excuse is acceptable for a federal agency tasked with protecting the President and other high-ranking officials. It’s clear that there needs to be a thorough investigation into not only this incident but also the culture at the Secret Service that allowed such a lapse in security to occur.
In response to these findings, Director Kimberly Cheatle has ordered tougher disciplinary measures for any agent caught using their personal phone while on duty. But is that really enough? Shouldn’t these agents be fired for such a blatant dereliction of duty? After all, if they are unable to follow basic protocols, can we really trust them to protect our leaders?
This incident is just another example of the Biden Administration’s inability to keep our country and its leaders safe. It’s time for real change and real solutions, not just empty promises and excuses. Let’s hold our leaders and their security teams accountable for their failures and demand better for our nation.
