The 2024 Presidential primary season may be irrelevant and trudging along, but it’s never too early to start thinking about potential running mates for former President Donald Trump. One name that has been floated around is Congresswoman Elise Stefanik from New York. Some may have reservations about her, but I respectfully disagree.
When choosing a running mate, there are two crucial factors to consider. First, a vice president should have the ability to assume the highest office if needed. Just the thought of Kamala Harris taking the helm should make anyone lose sleep. The second factor is what they bring to the ticket. Throughout history, vice presidential selections have been made to enhance the executive branch or attract specific voter demographics.

In the case of Trump and Stefanik, they are peas in a pod. While some may argue that Stefanik is more moderate than preferred, her loyalty and support for Trump are unwavering. She may not align with him on all issues, like her opposition to his withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord, but Trump values loyalty above everything else. And that’s exactly what Stefanik brings to the table.
One admirable quality about Stefanik is her ability to navigate the political landscape without any scandalous entanglements. Despite the media’s unrelenting scrutiny of her pro-Trump stance, they have failed to expose any scandalous flaws. Stefanik knows how to fight back and would be a formidable opponent for the biased media. Her status as a suburban wife and mom also appeals to a demographic that Trump would want to capture.
Of course, Stefanik may not be the first choice on Trump’s list, but she certainly should be high up there. The combination of her loyalty, integrity, and ability to combat the biased media make her a strong contender for the vice presidential slot. And let’s face it, Trump is anything but a traditional conservative Republican candidate.
Overall, Elise Stefanik would bring a fresh perspective and unwavering support to the Trump ticket. She may not align with the strict conservative platform, but that’s what makes her unique and appealing to Trump’s base. It’s time to start thinking outside the box and consider Stefanik for vice president. The potential is there, and it’s time to seize it.
