Elon Musk recently criticized Peggy Flanagan, a Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor of Minnesota, for her support to let minors to undergo transgender operations and treatments. In a video, Flanagan called the procedures “life-saving healthcare” and urged people to “listen and trust” kids who come out as transgender. According to Musk’s response to the video, many of these kids are “fed misinformation by adults” and shouldn’t undergo these treatments.
Not when they’re fed propaganda by adults.
Moreover, every child goes through an identity crisis before their personality/identity crystallizes.

Musk made the case that minors shouldn’t be permitted to make such final choices until they are at least 18 years old, when their identity has had time to solidify. Years of studies confirm this, showing that anywhere between 65 and 94 percent of transgender children ultimately give up on their identities as adults.

In response, some Democratic politicians have demanded that the permanent operations, which they now refer to as “gender-affirming care,” be made legal. Although other Republican states are trying to make it illegal for minors to have these operations, California is proposing a law that would make the state a safe haven for kids who want them. Alabama and South Dakota have laws prohibiting the treatments until the age of 18, while Texas is treating these surgeries as a form of child abuse. Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida and a Republican, has also advocated for the restrictions.
In an August video, the Boston Children’s Hospital promoted hysterectomies, or the removal of the uterus, as a sort of “gender-affirming therapy.” After facing harsh criticism, the hospital revised its website and now stipulates that patients must be 18 years of age or older in order to get these procedures.
Elon Musk’s statement to Peggy Flanagan, a Democrat who is the lieutenant governor of Minnesota, is a crucial reminder of the risks associated with letting kids make such irrevocable choices. Numerous people who have “detransitioned,” or stopped being transgender, have come out and accused medical experts of authorizing their permanent operations without thorough or extended discussions. It is obvious that these treatments shouldn’t be performed on minors and that people need to exercise more caution when it comes to listening to and trusting young transgender children.
Conservatives believe that Democratic politicians are doing irresponsibly by attempting to legalize these irreversible treatments for kids. It is crucial to keep in mind that these are serious choices that shouldn’t be made carelessly, and that kids shouldn’t be given the authority to make them until they are old enough to comprehend the consequences. Adults should be more careful to listen to and believe children who come out as transgender. They shouldn’t feed them propaganda or push them to make decisions they might regret later in life.
