Ex-GOP Chief Blasts RNC for Kowtowing to Trump’s Whims

Former Republican Party of Florida Chairman Al Cardenas unleashed a scathing attack on the Republican National Committee (RNC), accusing them of allowing former President Donald Trump to seize control of the party. Taking to his soapbox on the interwebs, Cardenas ranted about the RNC’s recent staff purge, moving their headquarters to Palm Beach, and the appointment of Trump’s daughter-in-law to a leading role. He declared that the RNC has become a limp, lifeless shell while MAGA rules the GOP from Trump’s PACS, allowing him to use funds at his discretion.

Cardenas, a former RNC honcho himself, didn’t hold back, calling out his fellow RNC members for their woeful inaction and silence in the face of the party’s downfall. His social media tirade was triggered by the RNC’s decision to bring on Christina Bobb, a lawyer in Trump’s corner and ex-correspondent for the One America News Network, as senior counsel for election integrity. This move further fueled Cardenas’ fiery rebuke of the RNC.

The RNC’s vote to hand over the reins to Trump’s handpicked cronies didn’t sit well with Cardenas either. The former boss lady Ronna McDaniel got the boot, with North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Michael Whatley set to take her spinny chair. Additionally, Lara Trump, Donald’s in-law and fervent supporter, was slotted in as co-chairwoman. Like icing on a very partisan cake, Trump’s inner circle, including Chris LaCivita and James Blair, were slated for senior positions within the RNC, while a slew of underlings were shown the door or forced to reapply for their posts.

To top it all off, rumors are swirling that some RNC members are mulling over using the party’s campaign funds to cover Donald Trump’s sizable legal bills. Lara Trump gave her seal of approval to this idea, as the former president faces a laundry list of legal entanglements in Washington, D.C., Florida, New York, and Georgia.
