The hearing — convened to probe the origins of COVID-19 and the government’s pandemic spending and research ties — left many patriotic citizens feeling justice has been delayed too long.
Republican senators, led vocally by Senator Rand Paul, pressed Fauci over whether federal money had backed risky research and whether the American people were misled about key facts during the pandemic. Those questions aren’t political theater; they cut to the heart of whether public health officials misused taxpayer dollars and abused their authority while frightening the nation into lockdowns and school closures.

Republicans on the committee signaled they won’t let this go quietly: the Senate is planning a vote to hold Fauci in contempt for refusing to answer, and lawmakers have discussed the full range of referrals from civil contempt to criminal contempt. If the law means anything, it must apply equally to those who frightened the public and steered trillions in research and grant dollars; accountability is not vindictiveness, it’s the rule of law.

Higbie and others on the right have repeatedly called for prosecutions and consequences for those who misled the public, and that fury is rooted in real damage to livelihoods, education, and liberty.
Friends of liberty should want full, honest investigations — not show trials, but real accountability: document requests, depositions under oath, and if warranted, criminal charges pursued by independent prosecutors. If the evidence supports it, no one should be exempt because of title or prior prestige; putting powerful people through the same legal process as everyone else restores faith in institutions, it does not destroy them.
Patriots must keep the pressure on Congress and the Justice Department until every uncomfortable question is answered and every responsible party faces the consequences of their decisions. This moment is a test: will America finally hold its technocrats to account, or will the ruling class continue to evade justice while ordinary Americans pay the price?
