The FBI, once again, has failed to turn over a critical memo that allegedly proves Joe Biden accepted bribe money from a foreign actor in exchange for changes in U.S. policy. This damning information was uncovered by a brave whistleblower, who, thankfully, has sought and received federal protections. But even with these measures in place, the FBI is digging in its heels and refusing to cooperate with the legal and constitutional obligations of Congress.
It’s clear that the FBI is obstructionist, and Chairman James Comer has had enough. Comer has threatened to move forward with contempt charges against FBI Director Christopher Wray if the memo isn’t delivered. It’s about time someone holds these government officials accountable! The American people need to know what’s in that memo and what the FBI did to verify the information contained within it.
The FBI has five days to produce the requested FD-1023 record that alleges a $5 million bribery scheme involving then-VP Biden.

Senator Chuck Grassley echoes Comer’s frustration, saying the FBI’s refusal to cooperate only harms its reputation and undermines the constitutional duty of Congress to provide oversight. The FBI knows exactly what document is being requested, and it’s time for leadership to stop playing games and produce the document. Grassley warns that they will get the necessary information “one way or another,” and let’s hope they do.
Comer and Grassley have even gone so far as to help narrow the scope of inquiry to ensure the FBI produces the specific memo, yet the FBI continues to delay and obfuscate. It’s clear that they care more about protecting themselves than fulfilling their duty to the American people.
It’s despicable that the FBI would play politics with this issue. If the shoe were on the other foot, and a Republican politician was accused of taking bribes, the FBI would be falling over themselves to deliver that memo to Congress. But because it involves Joe Biden, the FBI is trying to sweep this under the rug.
It’s past time for the FBI to produce the memo and for Joe Biden to be held accountable for his actions. Congress must use any and all means necessary to get to the truth and ensure that no politician is above the law.
