As the 2024 presidential election approaches, President Joe Biden is finally acknowledging the mess he has created at the border. In a stunning admission, Biden claimed that building a border wall is beyond his control and that he can’t stop it from being constructed. It’s ironic how just a few weeks ago he was blaming former President Trump for everything that was wrong at the border, but now he’s singing a different tune.
Biden tried to pass the blame onto Congress, saying that although money had been allocated for the border wall, he couldn’t get them to redirect it. It’s clear that he is more interested in playing politics than actually solving the crisis. And when asked about the effectiveness of physical barriers, Biden dismissively replied with a resounding “No.” It’s astonishing that he would reject a proven strategy to secure our borders.
But while Biden continues to avoid taking responsibility, immigration officials have announced that deportations to Venezuela will resume. It seems that even the Biden Administration recognizes the need to enforce immigration laws and remove those who unlawfully cross our border. The fact that they are willing to send migrants back to a country that is ravaged by poverty and dictatorship shows just how serious this crisis has become.
Yet, despite taking this small step towards addressing the issue, the Biden Administration still refuses to acknowledge the success of former President Trump’s border policies. They labeled his efforts as “inhumane” and a “waste of money,” but now they are left with no choice but to follow a similar path.
The border crisis has also hit closer to home, with sanctuary cities like New York City, Chicago, and Washington, D.C. pleading for help from the Biden Administration. These Democrat-controlled cities, which have long touted their progressive immigration policies, are now overwhelmed by the influx of illegal migrants. Even New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who recently traveled to Mexico to discourage migrants from heading to his city, admitted that the crisis will “destroy New York City” if not resolved soon.
It’s clear that Biden’s lack of action and refusal to secure our borders is having dire consequences. The American people deserve a leader who will put the safety and security of their own citizens first, not play political games. As the 2024 election approaches, it’s crucial for voters to remember Biden’s failures and demand a change in leadership. Our country’s future depends on it.
