Geraldo Rivera Slams Kamala Harris Over Fumbled Immigration Interview

Former Fox News anchor Geraldo Rivera has found himself shaking his head at Vice President Kamala Harris. During a recent interview with Bret Baier on “Special Report,” Harris was put on the hot seat regarding the topic of illegal immigration and, predictably, her performance was lackluster at best. While it’s no surprise that she is often caught off-guard, one has to wonder how someone in her position could fumble such a significant issue, especially when it seems to be the talk of the nation.

As the cameras rolled on Wednesday night, viewers watched Harris struggle to navigate questions about the border and illegal immigrant-related crimes. She didn’t even muster the grace to address the families of tragic victims like Rachel Morin, Laken Riley, and Jocelyn Nungaray, whose names have tragically surfaced amid the national dialogue on immigration. It’s difficult to believe that, as the so-called leader on these issues, she wouldn’t have had a more substantial answer ready for such a critical conversation.

Rivera, who spent over two decades at Fox, chimed in on the situation, pointing out that immigration is currently the pressing subject in America. He expressed disbelief over Harris’s lack of preparation for Baier’s inquiry, especially when confronted with heartbreaking images of victims’ families. Instead of showing genuine empathy or solidarity, Harris opted for dismissive responses that offered little depth or honesty—essentially avoiding any sincere acknowledgment of the real pain surrounding the issue.

The emptiness of her responses was highlighted when Rivera suggested that she should have expressed concern for the families suffering from their losses rather than skirting around the topic with vague proclamations. Rivera clearly believes that offering a sincere remark or an acknowledgment of the exploitation of these tragedies by political opportunists would have been the responsible thing to do. Instead, her approach felt more like a rehearsed performance aimed at dodging accountability.

As the nation reels from recent spikes in illegal immigration, just this fiscal year, over seven million individuals have been encountered at the U.S.-Mexico border. It doesn’t take a political genius to figure out that immigration isn’t just a talking point; it’s a matter affecting real lives. With high-profile murder cases linked to illegal immigrants hitting the news cycle, one cannot help but wonder how Harris and the Biden administration plan to address these concerns beyond the talking points in their speeches. With so many issues swirling, and more than half the country tuned in, it’s amazing that they can’t seem to find a ready answer amid the chaos.
