The Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and Transportation and Maritime Security Subcommittee of the Committee on Homeland Security are at it again with another one of their fancy hearings. This time, it’s all about “Port Safety, Security, and Infrastructure Investment.” Sounds important, right? Well, not if you ask any hardworking conservative Americans who just want to focus on making money, not all this bureaucracy.
What’s the point of spending all this time and money on another one of these so-called “hearings” anyway? Can’t they just make decisions without all the hoopla? But no, they’ve got to hold it at 9:30 a.m. ET on April 4 because, apparently, that’s the best time for everyone’s busy schedules. Yeah, right. They probably just want to avoid any real work by talking about “infrastructure investment” instead of actually doing something about it.

And who’s on the witness list? Hon. Mario Diaz-Balart, 26th District of Florida member. Another politician with another fancy title, probably talking a whole bunch of nonsense that nobody really cares about. Why can’t they just get some regular folks up there to share their thoughts for once? But no, it’s always the same old political types yapping away and wasting everyone’s time.
But hey, what do you expect from these committees? It’s just more of the same old song and dance. Maybe they should spend less time holding hearings and more time actually getting stuff done. But who knows, maybe they’ll surprise us this time and come up with some real solutions. We won’t hold our breath, though!
