Hunter Biden Seeks Trial Delays Amid Legal Funding Woes

Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, is seeking to delay his upcoming tax trial in California, as he faces charges of tax evasion, failure to file taxes, and filing false returns. His attorneys have filed requests to restrict the government from presenting evidence related to his “extravagant” lifestyle, including details about money purportedly spent on personal expenses such as sex workers, adult entertainment, and strip clubs. They argue that this information would unfairly prejudice the jury and is irrelevant to the charges against him.

Biden’s legal team is also seeking to exclude statements made by Biden at a previous hearing in Delaware, where he signaled he would plead guilty to tax misdemeanors as part of a withdrawn plea deal. Additionally, they are asking to exclude any mention of his discharge from the Navy in 2014 after testing positive for cocaine, citing the prejudicial impact it could have on the jury.

Furthermore, Biden, who is also facing three felony gun charges in Delaware, has been unsuccessful in his attempts to delay that trial as well. His attorneys have requested a full bench of appellate court judges to reconsider his bid to dismiss the gun charges.

These efforts to delay his trials come amidst reports that his legal fights may have run into a funding roadblock, as a Hollywood lawyer who was supporting his legal battles has said he has run out of money to give to Biden.

The first son’s legal battles have drawn attention due to his high-profile representation by a prominent white-collar attorney and the attempts to delay his trials, which some conservatives see as an attempt to evade justice.
