In a bid to align public sympathy with their client, Hunter’s legal team recently rolled out a hefty 52-page defense document titled “The Political Prosecutions of Hunter Biden.” The central thesis of this treatise? Apparently, if Hunter weren’t the son of a sitting president, he would have been avoided the scrutiny and legal troubles that have plagued him for years. This defense conveniently ignores the elephant in the room—that Hunter Biden’s questionable business dealings and alleged criminal activities have long entangled him, regardless of his last name.
Pity him though, for according to his team, Hunter now faces a ‘real threat’ following the election results. In a bizarre twist of irony, they claim that Donald Trump may rise from the ashes to somehow orchestrate a vendetta against Hunter, even as it’s the Biden administration which has put political rivalries on full display. Seems like Hunter’s lawyers are hoping to distract the public from the fact that it’s not Trump chasing after Hunter, but rather a long line of law enforcement agencies who are not amused by the antics of the president’s son.
One of Hunter’s attorneys claims that this situation has been a “seven-year saga propelled by unrelenting political desire.” The phrase sounds more like something ripped from a badly written political thriller rather than a serious legal argument. If anything, it feels like an attempt to cultivate a narrative of martyrdom, hoping for a sincere “poor Hunter” moment from the masses. Their plea is not just about the son but somehow implicates a larger warning about the wrath of Republicans targeting the Biden family—a creative twist for sure.
