The Israel Defense Forces recently shared images and videos of the aftermath of a Hamas rocket landing in a playground in Be’er Sheva. The missile was one of 14 launched toward the area, which could have caused a disastrous outcome, according to IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari. Although no children were present, a nearby woman sustained minor injuries from the shrapnel.
Hamas deliberately targeted a populated region, showing a blatant disregard for the safety of civilians. In response, the IDF took action, striking the launch sites and additional terrorist operatives. Moreover, the IDF has been actively eliminating terrorists in eastern Rafah, uncovering underground routes, and seizing weapons. Additionally, a coordinated temporary evacuation of the population in the area adjacent to the combat zone was carried out.

The incident in Be’er Sheva occurred following President Biden’s warning that the U.S. would cease shipments of offensive weapons to Israel if it proceeded with an invasion into Rafah. In light of this, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed that Israel would act independently if necessary, asserting Israel’s determination to stand alone if required.
