The message from that chaos is simple: appeasement costs lives and commerce, while lawless regimes profit from our hesitation.
The United States responded as any sovereign nation must, authorizing strikes on Iranian missile, drone and radar sites to degrade the platforms used to threaten innocent mariners. U.S. forces also intercepted incoming threats in recent engagements, demonstrating that American firepower and resolve remain the only reliable deterrent against Tehran’s provocations.
President Trump rightly called Iran’s attack a violation of the fragile ceasefire, and the administration’s measured but forceful retaliation showed that weakness will no longer be rewarded. Conservatives should be unapologetic in backing a policy that protects our sailors, secures sea lanes, and holds bad actors accountable instead of offering diplomatic sugar that invites more aggression.
This is not a time for moral equivalence or calls for “restraint” from those who cheer for inaction; it is a time to harden our posture, destroy the infrastructure Iran uses to project violence, and work with regional partners to re-open legitimate trade routes. The American people — and the global economy — deserve certainty that passage through choke points like Hormuz is protected by strength, not by wishful thinking.
Patriots must demand clarity from leaders and support the men and women defending freedom on the high seas. We should applaud decisive action, insist on crippling Iran’s capacity to threaten civilians, and never forget that peace secured by strength is the only rare commodity that keeps Americans safe and free.
