Oh boy, oh boy! Congressman Jim Jordan’s (R-OH) bid for Speaker of the House just took a major tumble down the hill. It seems like more and more of his fellow Republicans are turning their backs on him in a secret vote. And let me tell you, folks, it ain’t looking too good for ol’ Jim.

In a top-secret ballot on Friday, Jordan was handed a big, fat defeat. According to reporter Jake Sherman, the final count ended up being 122-86 against Jordan. Ouch! Looks like his chances are dwindling faster than a melting popsicle on a hot summer day.
It seems like Jordan’s dreams of being Speaker of the House are disappearing faster than a magician’s rabbit. A whopping 25 Republicans, yeah, you heard that right, 25 Republicans decided to say “no thanks” to Jordan’s bid. Can you believe it? It’s like a bunch of backstabbers turned their backs on him. They call themselves Republicans, but they’re acting more like swamp creatures, if you ask me.
But here’s the real kicker, folks. Word on the street is that Jordan and the other Republicans had a little sit-down before the vote. And guess what? It didn’t end well, not at all. I can just picture it now, a bunch of them sitting around a table, frowning, and shaking their heads at poor Jordan. It’s almost like they were saying, “Sorry, Jim, but we’re just not that into you.”
Now, I gotta hand it to Jordan, he tried to switch things up. Just the other day, he was all about supporting Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) as interim speaker. But then, out of nowhere, he changes his tune. Apparently, his “ardent conservative supporters” didn’t like the idea of any potential compromises with those dreaded Democrats. Can’t say I blame them, gotta stick to your principles, right?
But let me tell you, this internal GOP battle is really putting a spanner in the works. It’s not only hindering the House majority’s ability to govern, but it’s also throwing a wrench in the whole impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden. We need strong leadership, and it looks like Jordan might not be the one to provide it.
So, there you have it, folks. Congressman Jim Jordan’s bid for Speaker of the House is fading away faster than a shooting star. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but sometimes in politics, things just don’t go your way. Let’s hope the Republicans can find someone who can rally the troops and lead us to victory.
