During the 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump publicly accused Joe Biden of being dishonest about his educational background, exposing the president’s shaky record in law school.
There you have it: Joe Biden is back at it and he’s talking even more falsehoods about his political career’s beginnings.
Speaking recently, Dopey Joe said he enrolled the United States Naval Academy in 1965, but this isn’t supported by the evidence.
Former Senator J. Caleb Boggs made an appointment to which President Biden spoke at the University of Delaware’s graduating ceremony on Friday.
After graduating from the University of Delaware, Biden went on to Syracuse University for law school, where he earned his juris doctorate. At the time of his admission to the University of Delaware in 1961, Biden was a standout high school football player. Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, claimed she “did not hear that part of the speech.”
According to his history, Biden has a tendency to exaggerate or embellish the details of his past, such as tales about driving an 18-wheeler and being detained during a civil rights march.
Also, the president has made the Naval Academy allegation previously during a graduation address at the same university. When Biden spoke about the same thing in 2010, he used the year 1960 instead of 1965.
In 1961, Biden completed his high school diploma. In response to Biden’s allegation on Friday, the vice president opened his subsequent statement with the phrase “all kidding aside,” though it’s unclear precisely what the president was joking about.
Conservatives slammed the assertion, citing Biden’s medical deferment from Vietnam service as evidence.
And no one appears to recall Biden’s embarrassing legal school plagiarism controversy, which forced him to withdraw from the bid for president.
