In the recent news, there is a lot of talk about Kamala Harris being compared to Rachel Dolezal, who pretended to be black even though she was white. It’s like when someone dresses up as a superhero for Halloween but pretends to be that superhero in real life. Kamala Harris is a lady who wants to be the President and is working really hard to get there.
Some people say Kamala is pretending to be more black now to get more votes, like adding more salt to make the soup taste better. They think she is using her background to try to win the election. This is like if a person who likes pizza says they like tacos more now because more people around them are eating tacos.

It’s important to be true to yourself, like in the story “The Tortoise and the Hare.” If you try to be someone you are not, people might not believe you when you really need them to, and that would be like Hare losing the race because he took a nap.
In America, everyone is different, and that’s what makes the country special, like a box of different flavored cookies. Kamala Harris should be proud of who she is and not try to be someone else to get more votes. It’s like when you go to a friend’s house and try to act like them instead of being yourself.
