In the recent past, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have put themselves forward to the American people as capable of taking up the important roles of commander-in-chief and next-in-line commander-in-chief. However, upon further investigation, doubts arise regarding their abilities to provide security against acts of violence and terrorism.
The unrest that erupted in May 2020 following the tragic death of George Floyd resulted in widespread riots across cities like Minneapolis. The damage incurred during these events exceeded $500 million in Minnesota alone, with estimates placing total nationwide insured losses at over $2 billion, making these riots the costliest in U.S. history. This wave of violence highlighted the importance of effective leadership in maintaining law and order.

Tim Walz, as the Governor of Minnesota, faced criticism for his handling of the situation. It was revealed that he delayed deploying the Minnesota National Guard, despite having the authority to act swiftly to prevent further destruction. The subsequent investigation found that both Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey were more focused on appeasing the rioters than on using necessary force to restore peace. This lack of decisive action led to escalating violence and extensive property damage.
The findings of the Joint Committee report underscored Governor Walz’s failure to prioritize public safety during the riots. His reluctance to mobilize the National Guard promptly and his emphasis on negotiation over enforcement were called into question. Similarly, Kamala Harris’s statements during the protests raised concerns about her judgment and commitment to upholding the rule of law. By expressing unwavering support for the demonstrators, including those engaged in violent acts, Harris failed to distinguish between peaceful protests and criminal behavior. Her call for financial support to bail out violent offenders further underscored a lack of responsibility and accountability.
