Kamala Harris Faces New Plagiarism Accusations Raising Questions About Integrity And Competence

Kamala Harris finds herself embroiled in yet another plagiarism scandal, and this time it’s not just a few questionable quotes in a book. As the Democrat nominee looks to secure her place in history, fresh allegations have emerged alleging that she has plagiarized testimony from a district attorney and even lifted a fictional story about human trafficking to promote her report on crime in California.

The Washington Free Beacon has uncovered multiple instances where Harris allegedly copied significant portions of others’ work, marking this as perhaps her most severe case of intellectual dishonesty yet. During her time as San Francisco’s district attorney, Harris reportedly delivered testimony before Congress that bore striking similarities to a speech given by Paul Logli, the district attorney from Winnebago County, Illinois. A comparison revealed not only identical content and structure but also the same clumsy typos, raising questions about how someone vying for the presidency could so carelessly mishandle such crucial details.

The plagiarism doesn’t stop there. When Harris served as California’s Attorney General, she is said to have included a fictional narrative from the Polaris Project in her report on human trafficking. Although she cited her source, she failed to disclose that the story was fabricated, misleading the public in the process. This sort of mishap draws an unsettling parallel to someone citing a script from a spaghetti Western while discussing real-life crime statistics.

This isn’t the first time Harris has faced scrutiny over her written words. Just recently, conservative activist Christopher Rufo called her out for allegedly plagiarizing her 2009 book, “Smart on Crime,” also lifting material straight from Wikipedia. The media’s dismissive attitude towards these claims begs the question: would they be so lenient if a Republican candidate found themselves in similar hot water? Historical precedent suggests otherwise.

In the past, when Joe Biden faced allegations of plagiarism during his initial presidential run in 1988, it effectively derailed his campaign. Yet, with Harris, there appears to be a glaring double standard as media outlets, notably the New York Times, scramble to run cover for her, downplaying the significance of the mounting evidence against her. As the story unfolds, the difference in treatment for a similar transgression is hard to ignore.

The irony is palpable when recalling a story Harris told about her childhood attending civil rights protests, where she famously referenced wanting “fweedom.” Critics have rightly pointed out glaring similarities to words spoken by Martin Luther King Jr. decades earlier. While that instance of similarity might have been brushed off as a curious coincidence, the repeated emergence of plagiarism allegations raises serious concerns about Harris’s integrity, competence, and original thought. It seems clear that the narrative of a “truthful leader” is under siege, and voters would do well to take a long, hard look at her record as they approach the ballot box.
