In an election cycle bustling with fervor, Vice President Kamala Harris attempted to inject some excitement into her campaign by leading a “Let’s get out the vote!” chant during a recent rally in Pennsylvania. However, this display of supposed enthusiasm landed flat, showcasing yet again that the eagerness of liberal politicians doesn’t always translate into genuine support from their audiences.
As Harris called on the crowd to engage in her new chant, she was met with a collective yawn. Instead of moving the masses, most attendees remained glued to their cellphones, capturing the awkward moment rather than contributing to it. Liberals are known for their love of chanting and simple rhymes—one need only think of the endless slogans thrown around at protests. Yet, when it came time to unite for the Vice President, the crowd’s response was anything but enthusiastic.
The chant began with Harris trying to capitalize on the already existing “Ka-ma-la” cheer the crowd had started. But in a baffling twist, she pivoted to a less catchy call to action instead. Six repetitions of “Let’s get out the vote!” did little to motivate her audience, triggering only cringes and perhaps a few chuckles. The situation became even more comedic at the end when she launched into her trademark cackle after exclaiming, “Let’s win!” This moment alone begged for a political ad juxtaposing her shout with former candidate Howard Dean’s infamous scream. If the Trump campaign doesn’t act quickly, it would miss a golden opportunity for some mockery.
Kamala Tried to Start a Chant, and Hoo Boy She Made Jeb Bush and His ‘Please Clap’ Rally Look Like a Rave https://t.co/WWkqcpzrk5

Starting chants is supposedly a simple task for seasoned politicians, especially among Democrat supporters. But here was Harris, experiencing a chant fail that may have evoked memories of Jeb Bush’s own “Please clap” moment. One cannot help but wonder if there was a flash of sympathy for Bush, as it was clear Harris had stumbled into yet another PR disaster.
Kamala Harris’s history of awkward public engagements continues to paint her as a candidate struggling to connect. Long before she secured her spot on the Democrat ticket, she faced a similar disaster at a gathering of students from historically Black colleges. Despite encouragement to applaud, her entrance was met with polite silence, forcing an aide to awkwardly remind the attendees it was acceptable to clap. It was a moment that encapsulated the growing discomfort around her presence in the party.
In the aftermath of her failed attempts to energize constituents, it’s clear that Harris’s campaign lacks the charismatic leadership it desperately wants to project. Any claim that she compares favorably to iconic orators such as Abraham Lincoln or John F. Kennedy seems laughable. Instead, her rally performances diminish that image to a mere caricature—someone trying too hard to appeal while missing the mark entirely. This is not the promising future Democrats want to sell to the American public, and it reflects the struggles they’re facing as they inch closer to Election Day.
