Liberal Lawmakers Shower Migrants with $32M of YOUR Money!

In a surprising turn of events, the liberal lawmakers in Washington state have decided to throw a whopping $32 million at aiding new migrant arrivals. Who knew that the Evergreen State would be so generous with taxpayer dollars? The small church in Tukwila became the hotspot for hundreds of refugees and asylum seekers, and now state lawmakers are coming to the rescue with a jaw-dropping amount of money. It’s as if they’re trying to outdo each other with how much they can virtue signal.

Imagine Mayor McLeod standing before the state lawmakers, begging for help as if they were the saviors of some dystopian land. He declared a state of emergency, claiming that the city and church just couldn’t handle the influx of asylum seekers. They were apparently sleeping outdoors, and the city and church just didn’t have the resources. Well, maybe if the influx wasn’t so rapid, they might have been able to handle it on their own. But hey, who needs personal responsibility when the government is there to bail you out?

The cherry on top of this lavish spending spree is the cozy accommodations for the asylum seekers. They’re being put up in Airbnbs and local hotels, which is probably better than the accommodations for some hardworking Americans. The asylum seekers even get to enjoy the church’s kitchen and laundry facilities during the day. It’s like a vacation for them! Meanwhile, thousands of Americans are struggling to make ends meet, but who cares about them, right?

And don’t forget about Rep. Mia Gregerson and her House Bill 2368, which requires the state Department of Social and Health Services to coordinate efforts to support immigrants and refugees. Why stop at $32 million, right? Let’s just keep throwing money at the problem and hope it goes away. Who needs a thoughtful, comprehensive immigration policy when you can just open the money floodgates?

It’s not just Gregerson either. Sandra RoDarte with the Latino Civic Alliance is also urging lawmakers to open up their wallets even wider. They’re currently supporting 70 Venezuelan and Colombian Latino families, most of them living in tents. It’s a sad situation, but maybe the Latino Civic Alliance should focus on helping their own people rather than asking the government for handouts.

And where is all this money going, you ask? Over $25 million is headed to the state’s Office of Refugee and Immigrant Assistance, followed by $5 million to King County, and $2.5 million to Tukwila. That’s a whole lot of money to be throwing around, especially considering the state of the economy these days.

Sarah Peterson, the refugee coordinator with the Office of Refugee and Immigrant Assistance, is probably cackling with glee at the thought of all those juicy funds. She’s already planning on how to use the money, conducting listening sessions and preparing for a competitive application process. It’s like a game show, but instead of winning money, it’s just taxpayer dollars being shuffled around.

And let’s not forget about the $1 million going to school districts like Tukwila, because apparently, they need even more money to deal with the influx of asylum seekers. With all this money being thrown around, it’s like a never-ending cycle of handouts and dependency. But who’s going to foot the bill for all this? It certainly won’t be the politicians who are lining their pockets while hardworking Americans foot the bill.
