Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, a former national security adviser, claims that the influx of illegal immigrants into the United States over the past several decades has led to the rise in drug use and addiction there.
On EpochTV's "Facts Matter" program, Flynn declared, "We have a domestic problem that is fuelled by enormous, large quantities of dangerous narcotics and large amounts of money."
Under President Joe Biden, the illegal immigration situation has intensified to previously unheard-of proportions, with the US breaking previous records for both a fiscal year and a calendar year in terms of the number of illegal aliens apprehended at the border with Mexico. But the issue has existed for 25 years and has affected both partisan administrations, according to Flynn, who served as President Donald Trump's national security adviser.
According to Flynn, if even 10% of the illegal immigrants are criminals, then more people than the whole U.S. Marine Corps have entered the nation unlawfully in recent years.
Criminals, who are frequently affiliated with cartels, frequently travel to cities to sell narcotics, which has exacerbated the addiction issues there.

According to top Biden administration officials, who claim that there is not enough manpower to deport all illegal aliens who are convicted of further crimes in addition to entering or remaining unlawfully, some convicted criminals are deported, while others are permitted to stay in the country.
Speaking in Florida, Flynn stated that while he supported some of the Republican governor of Florida Ron DeSantis' actions, he criticized the busing of undocumented immigrants from Texas and Arizona to Washington as a "publicity stunt" that the drug cartels were applauding. By funding the buses, Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey have reportedly put pressure on Vice President Joe Biden by transporting undocumented residents to the city where he resides. Due to the inflow, Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser recently asked for National Guard support.
In any case, Flynn claims that action is needed at the federal, state, and municipal levels to address the problems of illegal immigration and drug use.
