Man Arrested for Threatening Erika Kirk and Christian Nationalists

A 26-year-old man has been arrested in San Antonio after allegedly threatening to kill Erika Kirk, Turning Point USA’s CEO, and “every Christian nationalist” planning to attend the organization’s Women’s Leadership Summit. The arrest is a stark reminder that political violence is no longer a theory — it’s a real danger to public figures and private citizens who show up to speak or listen.

Details of the Arrest and the Threat

Police arrested Jacob Wenske and charged him with two felony counts of making a terroristic threat. According to the arrest warrant, Wenske posted on social media that he “knows exactly where to bomb” the event and wrote that he “can’t wait to be the valet for her escort.” He reportedly sent an email registered to him that declared, “Death to Erika Kirk and every single speaker there!! … Every Christian nationalist shall perish in the bombing that will take place at every single Turning Point rally and event.” The target was Turning Point USA’s three-day Women’s Leadership Summit scheduled for June 5–7 in San Antonio.

Security, Law Enforcement, and Political Reality

Turning Point USA says it’s working closely with the San Antonio Police Department and the FBI and promises enhanced, multi-layered security at the conference. Good — they should. Conservatives and conservative organizations have been in the crosshairs recently, and threats are not hypothetical. Erika Kirk has already faced threats in the wake of the tragic killing of her husband, Charlie Kirk, and was present when a gunman tried to assassinate President Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. These are not isolated incidents. They form a pattern that must be met by swift policing and firm prosecution, not hand-wringing and lukewarm statements.

Let’s be blunt: modern political life requires basic commonsense protections. Event organizers should enforce strict security protocols. Social platforms should do a better job removing violent rhetoric and handing evidence to law enforcement. Prosecutors should charge threats like this to the fullest extent of the law so would-be attackers learn they will face real consequences. Free speech does not mean free threats of violence. If our society allows threats to be hurled with impunity, we will soon discover that the marketplace of ideas works best for those who can survive the bullets.

The Women’s Leadership Summit should go on — and it should go on with clear warning to anyone thinking violence is an acceptable political tool. Conservatives must be able to speak, organize, and worship without fearing for their lives. Law enforcement and the justice system owe it to every American to treat threats like this seriously and send the message that cruelty disguised as ideology will not be tolerated. Turn up the security, bring the speakers, and let the ideas be debated where they belong — in public, not under threat of bombs or bullets.
