Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz made an unexpected appearance at the Pennsylvania delegate breakfast during the Democratic National Convention, seeking to rally the troops ahead of President Joe Biden’s speech later that evening. The intention behind his visit was clear: he urged Pennsylvania delegates to express their gratitude to Biden, who is somehow regarded by some as the “best president” of their lifetime. The mere suggestion of such a notion is enough to elicit eye rolls from many Americans.
Walz’s unannounced visit seemed to serve as a precursor to the obligatory praise that Democrats are expected to shower upon Biden. He attempted to build excitement, reminding attendees that they would have the perfect opportunity to thank the president for his supposed achievements. Unfortunately for Walz, many citizens are left scratching their heads, wondering exactly what they should be thanking Biden for. His speech was sandwiched between well-known figures like Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and other equally notable governors from the Midwest, including JB Pritzker and Gretchen Whitmer.

The outpouring of gratitude that Walz called for quickly leads to the inevitable question: “What have we to thank him for?” The list is, quite frankly, alarming. Under Biden’s tenure, inflation has skyrocketed to the highest levels seen in 40 years. Food prices, gas prices, and heating costs have all seen staggering increases. In a state that prides itself on its natural resources, the rise in gas prices from around $2 per gallon to nearly $4 is a sore point, especially when juxtaposed against an administration actively working to stifle domestic energy production.
Walz didn’t seem to acknowledge the fallout from Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. This blunder remains one of the most significant military missteps in recent history, resulting in the loss of American lives and military assets while simultaneously handing the Taliban a propaganda victory that they continue to leverage. The administration’s mismanagement has left a bitter taste in the mouths of many as they recall the chaos that unfolded. This true debacle will be scrutinized for generations to come.
In addition to these economic and military failures, the Biden administration has transformed the military into a platform for social engineering rather than the formidable fighting force it once was. The dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion over readiness has undermined the integrity of the armed forces, leaving many to wonder if the U.S. military is still capable of performing its primary function. The sharp decline in preparedness is a cause for serious concern among conservatives who remember a time when American military strength was unparalleled.
Therefore, the call to thank Joe Biden for his term is met with skepticism, if not outright mockery. The accumulation of poor decisions, increasing prices, and a subsequent decline in national security stand in stark contrast to any alleged achievements Walz sought to highlight. As the Democrats gather to sing praises of their incumbent leader, the rest of the country is left to contemplate the reality of living under what many view as the worst presidency in modern history—a legacy that even the likes of Barack Obama and Jimmy Carter would struggle to overshadow.
