NY Republicans Urge Biden to Postpone Syracuse Visit Amid Mourning

President Biden’s got some explaining to do! Rep. Brandon Williams, a Republican from New York, ain’t too happy about ol’ Joe’s plans to visit Syracuse, especially with the recent tragic deaths of two police officers in the area. It ain’t the best time for a joyride through upstate New York.

Williams is tellin’ Biden straight up to delay his visit, ’cause the folks in law enforcement are still pickin’ up the pieces after the loss of Officer Michael Jensen and Deputy Michael Hoosock. The city of Syracuse and its suburbs are feelin’ the weight of this loss, and they sure as heck ain’t in the mood for a presidential visit right now.

And it ain’t just Williams who’s got somethin’ to say about this. Rep. Claudia Tenney and Rep. Elise Stefanik, both New York Republicans, have also piped up, callin’ out the Biden administration for bein’ downright heartless in tryin’ to push through this visit so soon after the officers’ deaths.

Now, the White House ain’t sayin’ much about the whole shebang, but it looks like they’re plowin’ right ahead with their plans. And who’s gonna step in to help ’em out? Well, none other than Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Police, who’ve agreed to lend a hand with security for Biden’s visit.

It’s clear as day that Biden and his team oughta show a little more respect and sensitivity to the folks up in Syracuse. How ’bout takin’ a rain check on that visit, Joe? Give the law enforcement and the good people of Syracuse the time and space they need to heal, for cryin’ out loud.
