NY Times Calls Kamala Harris ‘Patriotic Choice’—Are They Joking?

The New York Times has once again proven that its editorial board is trapped in a bubble of delusion so thick, you could cut it with a butter knife. The latest oddity comes in the form of their endorsement of Kamala Harris, the vice president whose most notable achievements include a knack for dodging tough questions and a penchant for cackling at inappropriate moments. In a headline that could only be described as an ongoing train wreck, the paper declared her “The only patriotic choice for president.” One has to wonder, just what kind of patriotism are they talking about?

The rationale behind this glowing endorsement seems as rickety as an old wooden rollercoaster. While most Americans are busy living their lives, concerned with inflation, crime rates, and border security, The New York Times insists that Harris, the architect of the deeply unpopular Biden administration, represents the epitome of American values. It’s almost as if they believe that the former Attorney General’s ability to laugh off the problems of the everyday citizen qualifies her as a national treasure. Spoiler alert: It does not.

It is always amusing when left-leaning outlets like the Times try to rewrite the narrative. Given Harris’s history of flip-flopping on nearly every issue and her failure to connect with ordinary Americans, the idea that she embodies patriotism is laughable at best, and downright insulting at worst. Maybe they were looking for a mascot for their brand of elitist, progressive liberalism and decided that anyone at the helm of a failing administration would fit the bill.

In a world where “patriotic” usually means defending the Constitution and promoting freedom, Harris’s policies speak to a different tune—one where government intervention and regulations run rampant. Advocating for more taxpayer-funded programs while families struggle under the weight of soaring prices doesn’t quite scream “patriotic.” But then again, it’s not really surprising coming from a publication that has long traded journalistic integrity for a good headline.

Perhaps this endorsement is just the latest effort to prop up a sinking ship. With the current state of affairs, it’s hard to imagine how Harris would be a beacon of hope for the nation. The irony is rich; while she may be the ‘chosen one’ in the eyes of the Times, millions of Americans are looking for leaders who prioritize the values that truly reflect what it means to be patriotic. As they say, the only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about at all. So, kudos to The New York Times for keeping Harris in the conversation, even if it’s just as a reminder of what America definitely does not need.
