Poll Shows Trump Leading Biden by Six Points, Even More with Third Parties

Former President Donald Trump is hitting the headlines. A recent CNN poll shows that Trump is in the lead against incumbent President Joe Biden by a whopping six-point margin. Trump is standing tall at 49 percent, while Biden trails behind at 43 percent when pitted head-to-head.

When you throw in third-party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Dr. Jill Stein, and Cornel West into the mix, Trump’s lead grows even bigger, stretching to nearly double digits. In this scenario, Trump grabs 42 percent, Biden falls to 33 percent, Kennedy strides in at 16 percent, West at a respectable four percent, and Stein bringing up the rear at three percent. It’s a nine percent lead for Trump nationwide, making political waves that suggest he might just be on his way to a landslide victory over Biden.

This fascinating CNN/SSRS poll, conducted from April 18 to April 23, surveyed a total of 1,212 American adults, including 967 registered voters. With a margin of error at 3.4 percent for the full sample and 3.8 percent among registered voters, the numbers for the presidential showdown are rooted in the registered voters’ opinions.

CNN’s take on the poll paints a picture where many Americans view Trump’s presidency positively and Biden’s presidency negatively. According to CNN’s Jennifer Agiesta, the majority of Americans consider Trump’s term as president a success, while they see Biden’s term as a failure. In a surprising twist, 55% of Americans now view Trump’s presidency as a success, while 44% believe it fell short. On the flip side, a concerning 61% see Biden’s time in office as a failure, with only 39% deeming it a success.

Biden’s approval ratings on crucial matters like the economy and inflation are less than stellar at 34 percent and 29 percent, respectively. The economy appears to weigh heavy on voters’ minds, with 65% of registered voters stating it’s extremely important to their presidential vote. And guess what? Those voters leaning on the economy as a pivotal factor lean heavily towards Trump with a striking 62% to 30% advantage over Biden.

As the poll numbers shake up the political arena, Trump finds himself tangled in a trial led by Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg in New York City. Meanwhile, Biden is caught up in deflecting attention away from pressing issues like the economy, immigration, and national security towards the controversial topic of abortion, making a stop in Florida to highlight a forthcoming ballot initiative.
