Protesters Slam Biden, Media at Correspondents’ Dinner Over Gaza Conflict

Protesters gathered outside the Washington Hilton on Saturday to express their support for the Palestinians in Gaza amidst the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. They chanted phrases such as “Shame on you” directed at journalists and attendees of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The activists accused President Joe Biden of complicity in what they described as genocide against Palestinians, as similar protests spread across college campuses in the United States throughout the week.

The demonstrators also directed their chants at the media, urging journalists to “Quit your job” and voicing accusations that the media’s coverage was responsible for the loss of life in Gaza. As President Biden’s motorcade passed by, the protesters intensified their calls to “Stop the genocide in Gaza.”

President Biden’s arrival at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was met with the protesters’ impassioned expressions, coinciding with news that Hamas, the group behind the initial attack on Israel that led to the conflict, was considering a ceasefire agreement review with Israel.
