Rep Jamie Raskin Suggests Civil War if Trump Wins 2024 Election

Rep. Jamie Raskin has taken the political world by storm with some truly eyebrow-raising comments that suggest he views civil war as a valid response if Donald Trump were to win the upcoming election. At a recent discussion on voter rights—charmingly hosted by a left-wing professor—Raskin spouted off about disqualifying Trump come January 6, 2025, citing the infamous Fourteenth Amendment. This is the same tactic that Rep. Zoe Lofgren had hinted at months prior, only for her to later walk it back as if she’d misremembered a line from an article of impeachment.

Raskin seems rather fixated on the idea that Congress holds the key to dismissing Trump from the electoral stage using the Fourteenth Amendment. This would presumably be a heroic move in his eyes, positioning Congress as the ultimate arbiter of who can seek office. It’s ironic, considering that the Supreme Court just slapped down a similar attempt by Colorado to use the Fourteenth Amendment to disqualify Trump. The Supreme Court has made it clear that any “conviction” of Trump related to insurrection would require some very specific legislative action by Congress. In other words, Raskin’s vision might just blow up in the Democratic playbook.

During his tirade, Raskin suggested that the very existence of Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment was fading away, as if it were just a fleeting illusion. He ominously warned of the “rampaging Trump mobs,” ignoring that this group constitutes the very supporters of the man who won the last presidential election—at least in his hypothetical scenario. The irony is rich; the real “rampaging mobs,” in many cases, have been the peaceful conservatives who have had to endure the chaos unleashed by the left over the last several years.

Adding to the absurdity, Raskin proclaimed that if they were to declare Trump disqualified, they would require bodyguards for everyone involved, hinting that a civil skid into chaos would unfold. It’s alarming to think that an elected official would sow such discord, seemingly disregarding the implications of inciting violence with his words. In Raskin’s mind, he’s the hero of the story, ready to fight off the “mobs,” yet it leaves one questioning whether he genuinely grasps the consequences of suggesting that a civil conflict could be on the horizon, all born out of political spite against Trump and his supporters.

One must wonder if Raskin’s rhetoric is merely a symptom of the Trump Derangement Syndrome that has affected so many on the left. Instead of promoting unity, he seems intent on further division, claiming that any dissent from the left is justified. In this bizarre scenario, drowning out opposition is the order of the day. For Raskin and his pals, winning politically appears to take precedence over the democratic process itself, where differences are resolved at the ballot box, not via threats of violence or mob rule.

Overall, this political theater reveals the desperation that many Democrats feel as they grapple with the potential for a resurgent Trump. Instead of laying out a coherent strategy or agenda to win over the American people, Raskin’s solution is to preemptively undermine the election results, proving once more that for some, winning at any cost seems to be the name of the game. Whether or not he recognizes the instability he’s inciting is a different question altogether, but one thing is clear: when it comes to 2024, the stakes have been raised, and it appears Raskin is eager to fan the flames.
