Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) has criticized President Joe Biden’s foreign policy approach, citing a specific example of the administration’s perceived inaction towards Communist China. During an interview on WABC’s Cats Roundtable with John Catsimatidis, Scott expressed his belief that the Biden Administration is not taking a strong enough stance against China.
Communist China has chosen to be our enemy. The CCP wants to destroy our way of life, and @JoeBiden shows nothing but weak appeasement.
The American people deserve a leader in Washington who stands up to evil regimes and puts America first.https://t.co/gD4LL79xjc

“All that Biden does is please China,” Scott said. “I don’t know why, but this is a man who won’t stand up to dictators around the world.” This sentiment was echoed in a tweet from earlier this week, in which Scott wrote: “Communist China has decided to become our enemy. The CCP seeks to destroy our way of life, and @JoeBiden demonstrates nothing but weak accommodation. The American people deserve a leader in Washington who stands up to evil regimes and puts America first.”
The already tense relationship between the United States and China has been intensified by the Biden Administration’s action of shooting down a Chinese espionage balloon that was hovering over the country for a few days. China has denounced the US response to the balloon as “hysterical” and “absurd.”
Senator Scott’s opposition to Biden’s policy towards China is expected. In January, he collaborated with Republican Senators Tom Cotton (R-AR), Ted Budd (R-NC), and J.D. Vance (R-OH) to propose the China Trade Relations Act, which seeks to terminate China’s standard trade relations status. Scott’s proposed legislation is a continuation of his earlier concerns regarding an unfavorable trade conflict with Beijing.
The Biden Administration’s insufficient approach towards foreign policy, particularly in regards to Communist China, is becoming more evident. President Biden’s unwillingness to confront authoritarian leaders and preference for appeasement is apparent. This approach not only poses a risk to the country, but it could also establish a harmful precedent for future generations. It is imperative that President Biden assumes a more assertive position towards China and prioritizes America’s interests.
