The Biden Administration’s Energy Department has recently concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic most likely originated from a laboratory leak in China. This conclusion, which is based on new intelligence, is in stark contrast to the previous stance of the Biden Administration, which was to deny the possibility of this “conspiracy theory”. This news has been met with fierce pushback from the home appliance industry, and it serves as yet another example of how the Biden Administration’s credibility has been damaged by their own self-inflicted blows.

This is not the first time that the Biden Administration has been caught in a lie, or that their credibility has been damaged by their own actions. Just a few weeks ago, U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr., a Biden appointee, said that a gas stove ban was “on the table”. This sparked a political firestorm, and the White House quickly walked back the threat, with Biden press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre assuring Americans “the president does not support banning gas stoves”. However, the Energy Department’s new rule and subsequent analysis contradict that walkback.

Conservatives have also been repeatedly chastised by the ostensibly anti-misinformation brigade for raising concerns over toxic racial indoctrination (CRT) in schools and other “culture wars” being foisted upon students by leftists. Yet, over and over again, these “conspiracies” have proven to be very much real, with students in California being given a presentation on oppression that listed types of people who would be considered part of a privileged “non-target group” or an oppressed “target group”, and with middle schoolers in Florida being instructed to bow to black students by their teacher.
It is clear that the Biden Administration and their allies have been caught in multiple lies and are actively pushing divisive and toxic policies on American students. This is yet another example of how the Left flatters itself by pretending dangerous misinformation and conspiracy theories are, more or less, the sole or overwhelming province of the Right, all while indulging or embracing their own falsehoods. The Biden Administration’s credibility is being eroded by their own irresponsible behavior, and it is time for them to be held accountable for their actions.
