O’Leary didn’t sugarcoat it, declaring that he wouldn’t trust Ocasio-Cortez to even manage a humble candy store, let alone make crucial decisions for her district. He lambasted her management skills, likening her jurisdiction to a third-world country despite her knack for flashy social media posts and attention-grabbing soundbites.
The outspoken businessman questioned why AOC’s constituents continue to support her, especially after her vocal opposition to Amazon setting up shop in the city. He expressed disbelief at her track record and wondered why her constituents weren’t demanding better representation.
When asked if his disdain for Ocasio-Cortez was personal or rooted in business, O’Leary leaned heavily on her professional shortcomings, asserting that her ineptitude would disqualify her from any managerial role, even in the simplest of businesses like a candy store.
O’Leary didn’t stop there; he also took a jab at New York’s leftist policies, particularly the questionable civil fraud case brought against former President Donald Trump by Attorney General Letitia James. O’Leary, with his own significant real estate holdings in the city, dismissed the case as baseless and argued that it lacked any real financial repercussions.
In O’Leary’s eyes, the hefty fine imposed on Trump was unwarranted, pointing out that in the cutthroat world of real estate development, such disputes were commonplace. He scoffed at the notion that anyone had suffered any financial loss, emphasizing the routine nature of financial dealings in the industry.
