In response to the increasing number of Supreme Court seats, Massachusetts Senator Edward Markey has introduced a bill that would add four seats to the court. He has the support of various pro-choice groups such as Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Rights Action League. However, legal experts warned that this move is just another attempt by the Democratic Party to gain more leverage.
According to Kelly Shackelford, the chief executive officer of the First Liberty Institute, court packing is a political maneuver that can threaten the independence of the judiciary. It can be used to manipulate the judiciary in order to align it with political agendas.
The Left is attempting to smear and delegitimize the Court as part of a dangerous political campaign.

After several reports emerged that claimed that Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas had violated ethics rules, Democrats are now pushing for a code of ethics for the court. In addition, Congressman Edward Markey is calling for Thomas' resignation. He also claims that Amy Coney Barrett and Neil Gorsuch have no right to serve on the court.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz has introduced a constitutional amendment that would prevent the Supreme Court from filling more than nine seats. This move supports the claims of legal experts that this type of political maneuver is dangerous.
