Crooked Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state, claimed on Wednesday's episode of CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address to a joint session of Congress was historic and on par with those of former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
Clinton remarked, “I thought that was fantastic. As others have observed, it was a stirring and motivating speech. It struck a responsive chord with us as well. To urge us to think about all the families in Ukraine who will be huddled in the cold and to know that they are on the front lines of freedom right now, it linked the battle of the Ukrainian people to our own revolution. There's a fight going on. What they're fighting for is also our cause. The overwhelming enthusiasm from the Congress was a wonderful surprise. Likewise, I found President Zelensky's meeting with President Biden, as well as their subsequent press conference, to be substantive and extremely positive. He noted that the day was ideal not only for himself but also for the Ukrainian people and the advancement of democracy and freedom.
She continued, "This was unprecedented. A parallel has been drawn to 81 years ago, when Winston Churchill visited and essentially requested the United States to continue standing with them after we had been attacked; we did. So, many of Zelensky's arguments hit home with those of us who have fought hard for freedom and paid a high price to protect it for so long.
