Former President Donald Trump announced that he will be appearing in a Miami federal court on Tuesday over Mar-a-Lago classified documents probe charges. The DOJ has clearly been weaponized against anyone associated with Trump, and this is just the latest example.

Regardless, as Trump runs for the presidency in 2024, this will no doubt give him a significant bump in the polls among Republicans. They will rally behind him, knowing that he is being persecuted by an administration that hates him for no reason other than their political agenda.
BREAKING: Trump lawyer Jim Trusty tells @kaitlancollins that they do not have indictment, but have received a summons via email from DOJ which refers to charges including:
1. Espionage Act Charge
2. Several Obstruction Charges
3. False Statements Charges
4. Conspiracy Charge https://t.co/wPvUdJ19ry— Paula Reid (@PaulaReidCNN) June 9, 2023
Of course, there will be negative impacts on Trump’s presidential campaign, too. Spending time in court means he won’t be able to spend as much time campaigning. He will have to pay his legal team, which also eats into his campaign funds. He will have less time to focus on important talking points like the economy, crime, and immigration, and instead, have to discuss how he is being unfairly treated.
But regardless of all these setbacks, Trump is still the frontrunner among Republican candidates, and a jail cell is not going to stop him from running for president. In fact, he may even gain more support as conservatives become even more outraged by Biden’s attempts to take Trump down by any means necessary.
As we get closer to the 2024 presidential election, the race will undoubtedly heat up, and anything can still happen. But one thing is certain: Biden’s politicized DOJ will not be able to silence Trump and his base.
