It’s a stark reminder of the dangers our law enforcement officers face every single day while keeping our streets safe.
But amid the mourning and heartbreak, a glimmer of support shone through as former President Donald Trump announced his intention to attend Officer Diller’s wake to pay his respects. Trump, a stalwart supporter of the NYPD, continues to show his unwavering commitment to honoring the courageous men and women in blue who put their lives on the line to protect their communities.
In a stark contrast, President Joe Biden’s priorities seemed misplaced as he jetted off to New York City not to offer condolences for the fallen officer but rather to hobnob at a high-dollar fundraiser with former Democratic Presidents Obama and Clinton. It’s disappointing to see where his priorities lie, especially when juxtaposed with Trump’s sincere solidarity with law enforcement.
The heinous criminal responsible for Officer Diller’s untimely death, Guy Rivera, had a rap sheet as long as a football field, with a laundry list of prior arrests and violent offenses. Rivera’s reprehensible actions have once again exposed the failures of our broken criminal justice system, allowing dangerous individuals like him to roam free and wreak havoc on innocent lives.
