Former President Donald Trump met with Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin at the Trump National Golf Club in northern Virginia. The two discussed various topics, including the former president’s chances of winning Virginia in November. Although they did not talk about Youngkin being Trump’s running mate, Trump mentioned that he considered Youngkin to be a strong candidate for the position.

Despite Youngkin distancing himself from Trump during his gubernatorial campaign in 2021, the former president still supported him by hosting a tele-rally before the election. Nevertheless, Youngkin has developed his brand separate from Trump, establishing himself as the face of the Virginia GOP.
The Republican Party is fully united going into November.
Governor @GlennYoungkin knows how to win in a tough purple state.
President Trump is a smart leader and recognizes that.
Youngkin helps Trump win.
That will help save America.

Before announcing his candidacy for president in 2024, Trump criticized Youngkin on social media. However, Youngkin did not respond to Trump’s name-calling, emphasizing that it’s not his way of operating.
After Trump won the Virginia GOP primary, Youngkin endorsed him for president, praising Trump’s record on border security, foreign policy, tax reduction, and cost of living. He urged others to unite around solid leadership and policies that would benefit the nation.
It is anticipated that Trump will announce his vice presidential pick around the time of the Republican National Convention next month.
