In a stunning victory for former President Donald J. Trump, the Illinois Elections Board, in a unanimous 8-0 ruling, has decided to keep him on the state’s primary ballot. This decision comes as a huge relief for Trump and his supporters, just as liberals and Democrats continue their relentless attacks on the 45th President of the United States.

Despite the baseless allegations made by a retired judge and Republican hearing officer that Trump should be barred from running for president due to a supposed constitutional ban on those who have “engaged in insurrection,” the board has rightfully deferred the ultimate decision to the courts for a fair and just ruling.
Republican Judge Clark Erickson, in a rare moment of clarity and common sense, wisely advised the board to reject the absurd complaint against Trump raised by some voters, emphasizing the Elections Board’s limited scope in making such significant constitutional determinations. Judge Erickson’s remarks brilliantly put to rest the ridiculous accusations against President Trump and upheld the principles of fairness and due process.
The upcoming U.S. Supreme Court’s scheduled hearing on the matter, set for February 8, is of paramount importance, as it will address the baseless claims and ensure that the rule of law prevails. Scholars have debated whether the 14th Amendment clause applies to Trump for his actions surrounding the 2020 presidential election, when he rightfully questioned the integrity of the election process.
Moreover, the Colorado case, which the Supreme Court is set to review, is the only one that has succeeded in court so far. This clearly indicates that the left’s relentless attacks on Trump are purely politically motivated and designed to undermine his standing among the American people. As Trump maintains a significant lead among Republicans and the primary season progresses, it is essential that he is allowed to compete fairly and without any unjust impediments.
The spurious charges brought against President Trump, accusing him of inciting riots through social media posts, are nothing but a blatant attempt by the Biden Justice Department to persecute a highly respected and beloved leader of the Republican Party. It is evident that the left is resorting to desperate and outrageous tactics to tarnish Trump’s reputation and suppress his immense popularity among the American people.
