After the investigative journalist Paul Sperry criticized the FBI for its apparent favoritism for Hillary Clinton, Twitter suspended Sperry's account. He drew parallels between how she was handled by the law enforcement agency and how former President Donald Trump has been handled by the agency.

On Tuesday, repercussions were handed down to Sperry by the social networking platform. After he pointed out that the FBI did not raid any of Clinton's properties in order to uncover the thousands of sensitive e-mails that she had destroyed, the line of communication was blocked. Sperry had also suggested on his website that the raid on Mar-a-Lago may have been tied to secret information related to the purported eavesdropping on the Trump campaign during the 2016 election. These records were said to pertain to the suspected spying on the Trump campaign.
