US Faces Security Threats, Societal Chaos as Bible Engagement Drops

The world seems to be full of conflicts and problems these days. Amidst the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, and the rising tensions between Israel and Iran, the United States is facing severe threats to national security, especially with the wide-open southern border allowing millions of illegal immigrants to flood in.

On top of these issues, the public square seems to be chaotic. LGBT ideology appears to be infiltrating every aspect of society, and abortion is a top priority for the current presidential administration and the Democratic Party.

In response to all of this, the American Bible Society released the first chapter of their State of the Bible USA 2024 report. The report revealed that 57% of all Americans are “Scripture Disengaged,” marking the highest number of respondents ever to be in this category.

Although the report highlights a 4 percent increase in Gen Z adults engaging with Scripture, the fact that so many Americans are disassociating from the Bible may be contributing to the societal disarray. With the growing disregard for truth and mockery of biblical mandates, the report serves as a sobering reflection of the state of the nation.

As believers, it’s important to turn to the Word of God for guidance and direction. The Bible is a source of truth and wisdom, and it is essential for Christians to continue preaching the gospel and making disciples, regardless of the challenges faced.

Despite the difficulties and chaos in the world, the Bible offers hope and assurance for believers. It declares victory and provides the strength to overcome challenges. Therefore, it is crucial for believers to remain steadfast in their faith and share the transformative power of Scripture with those around them.
