Vice President Kamala Harris has recently been portrayed as a moderate by Democrats and their loyal media allies, but the evidence keeps piling up to suggest otherwise. A newly surfaced video from 2017 shows Harris in a much different light, revealing the true nature of her beliefs and firmly entrenching her in the left’s radical corner.
In the video from Recode’s annual conference, Harris pushes the concept of being “woke.” She tells the audience that everyone needs to be vigilant about their wokeness, highlighting the absurdity of trying to outdo one another in the realm of political correctness. The fact that Harris emphasizes “staying woke” indicates that she doesn’t simply want Americans to be conscious of social issues; she wants them fully immersed in the left’s agenda, subscribing to the catch-all term that encompasses a multitude of radical left values.
Alongside her wokeness crusade, Harris took time to criticize former President Donald Trump for his immigration policies, a frequent talking point among those on the left. She expressed deep frustration over the idea of shutting the doors entirely to refugees, claiming it is unjust to turn away those fleeing atrocities. This narrative seems to overlook the perfectly legitimate and robust border security measures that many Americans value for national safety. It appears that for Harris, emotions overrule common sense in her push for an open-door policy.
Senator Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee was quick to spotlight this clip, calling attention to Harris’s glaringly progressive rhetoric. This is just another example of how major figures within the Democratic Party consistently lean into their radical ideologies. It’s not just Harris, though; Minnesota Democratic Governor Tim Walz, who Harris recently chose as her running mate, also dropped a bombshell by equating socialism to “neighborliness” during a campaign call. This unfortunate remark exemplifies how the Democrats are trying to rebrand their extremist policies in a palatable manner, but deep down, they remain rooted in socialism.
The selection of Walz caught the attention of conservative commentators, including Ben Shapiro, who wasn’t shy about calling it a “massive gift to the Republicans.” Walz’s history as a radical from Minnesota and his role during the chaotic events of 2020 puts him squarely in the leftist camp. It raises the question: how many more gifts are Democrats willing to give Republicans as they double down on their progressive candidates? This video and the remarks of Harris and Walz only further alienate moderate voters while endearing them to the conservative base. While the Democrats try to paint a picture of a centrist Harris, the truth is that her allegiance lies firmly with the extreme left and its agenda.
