On Thursday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy criticized the killing of Ashli Babbitt, an Air Force veteran, during the mass protests that occurred in Washington DC on January 6.
During a panel discussion about Ashli Babbit's murder, a corporate reporter asked House Speaker Marjorie Taylor Greene if she thought the police officer was following proper procedures when he shot her.
McCarthy responded by saying that the law enforcer did his job properly.
REPORTER: "Do you think Ashli Babbit was murdered, or do you think the police officer who shot her was doing his job?"

The events that led to the death of Ashli Babbit and the exoneration of the police officer who shot her have caused a lot of controversy within the Republican Party.
Prior to his statement on Thursday, McCarthy had not offered his opinion on the incident.
In 2018, McCarthy revealed that he had dinner with Klaus Schwab, a billionaire. During a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum, he was also joined by Elaine Chao, the wife of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
During his time in Davos, Switzerland, in 2018, McCarthy was able to attend the World Economic Forum. The same year, Donald Trump was at the event.
During the panel discussion, McCarthy was joined by former Trump administration officials, including Kirstjen Nielsen and Chao. They talked about the importance of America First.
During his dinner with Klaus, McCarthy noted that the number of countries discussing their tax systems was interesting. He said that Trump's America First message was about cutting taxes and reforming the economy.
