This year, the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Manhattan is taking a shocking turn away from being a family-friendly event. Americans who look forward to this beloved national tradition will be disappointed to learn that the parade will be featuring the transgender agenda and one of Hollywood’s biggest liberals, Cher, as the featured performer.
Cher, who famously declared she would leave the United States if former President Donald Trump was re-elected, will now entertain a country that she regularly insults. It’s no surprise that the Associated Press and the parade organizers see nothing wrong with this. However, it will be interesting to see how the television ratings reflect their complacency.

Last week, Breitbart News reported that the parade will also showcase “non-binary” actors from the Broadway shows “& Juliet” and “Shucked.” “& Juliet” is a jukebox musical inspired by “Romeo and Juliet,” exploring an alternate story if Juliet hadn’t committed suicide. One of the roles receiving attention is the non-binary character “May,” played by Justin David Sullivan, who identifies as he/she/they. Sullivan even opted out of consideration for a Tony award due to the awards being gender-specific.
Another Broadway show featured in the parade is “Shucked,” a fantasy fable set in corn country. The character Lulu, played by Alex Newell, is a female character portrayed by a man who also identifies with the pronouns he/she/they. Despite this, Newell accepted a Tony award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. While the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has previously included openly gay performers, having openly gay Broadway actors is likely to draw more attention, especially from the liberal-leaning folks at NBC who will surely make a big deal out of it.
The news about Cher and the “non-binary” parade features has faced significant backlash on social media. It’s no surprise that the left would seize an opportunity to politicize Thanksgiving, a holiday rooted in faith in God and gratitude for the blessings of living in a free nation. While some American families may understand the significance of this holiday, the Macy’s Parade organizers clearly do not.
