As reported by Trending Politics: J.D. Vance, the author of Hillbilly Elegy, overcame his modest beginnings in Appalachia and was able to make it all the way through Yale Law School and into the exclusive and lucrative world of venture capital (working for Peter Thiel's far-right "Mithril Capital" fund). Hillbilly Elegy tells the story of J.D. Vance's rise from his Appalachian roots.
More interestingly and pertinently, he is also running for the Senate in Ohio, where he hopes to be one of the first genuine "New Right" types to be elected to federal office. This is an essential and relevant aspect of his campaign. In this regard, he is ideologically aligned with Blake Masters in Arizona, who was another New Right type who attempted to move the right away from messaging centered on "tax cuts from corporations" and toward policies that are pro-family, pro-worker, and culture warrior oriented.
Vance was able to get the Republican nomination for the Senate race owing, in big part, to Trump. Trump put his support behind Vance, stating that like some others, J.D. Vance even said some not so nice things about him before, but that he gets it now. In what may be a very challenging competition, he represents our greatest opportunity to win.
Tim Ryan is his vulnerable but dangerous Democrat opponent. Vance recently tore Ryan apart in a discussion with Maria Bartiromo, telling her that Ryan is a flip-flopper who is difficult to take seriously and who endorses radical leftist policy ideas.
We'll have to wait and see what the outcome of the Ohio race is. Vance, an opponent of the globalists who is backed by Trump and a person who has a history of hard work, has a good chance of winning that one. The race is going to be tight, but if anybody with a genuine MAGA target in mind could win it it's definitely Vance.
