An individual with pro-Hamas associations working within the Biden administration has been placed on administrative leave due to her ties to a Palestinian lobbyist organization. Nejwa Ali, employed by the U.S. Customs and Immigration Services office, has been found to have expressed public support for Hamas terrorism and to have previously worked for the Palestinian Liberation Organization, an organization expelled from the U.S. during the Trump administration.
The revelation came to light following an investigation by the Daily Wire, which uncovered social media posts by Ali containing offensive and racist cartoons depicting Jewish individuals, as well as drawings depicting Hamas-style terrorists. In one of her posts, she wrote, "F*** Israel and any Jew that supports Israel," and in another, she expressed, "Palestine will be free one day. F*** APARTHEID Israel and any Israeli that supports that bulls***."
U.S. Senator Josh Hawley highlighted that Ali's advocacy for terrorism might constitute a violation of the law, raising questions about her hiring process and potential legal infringements. Rep. Dan Bishop also voiced his concerns, characterizing Ali's comments as "unacceptable and deeply disturbing."
When approached for comment, Ali initially dismissed concerns and stated that her biases did not affect her job performance, even suggesting that the outlet should mind its own business. However, she later contended that her views on Israel did not interfere with her ability to carry out her job.
It is disconcerting that Ali was employed by the U.S. Customs and Immigration Service without undergoing a thorough vetting process. As an adjudication officer, her responsibilities included the analysis of legislation and policy, as well as making determinations on immigration cases. It is crucial that individuals in such roles do not pose a threat to national security. While the CIS has stated that applicants undergo comprehensive vetting and background checks, it remains unclear how Ali's views and affiliations were not discovered during the hiring process.
