Biden Backs $90 Billion Aid Package Amid GOP Pushback

President Joe Biden has given a big thumbs up to a whopping $90+ billion foreign aid package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. While Biden is all for it, some Republicans are not as thrilled. They think it’s a bad deal, a real screwing as Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA Founder puts it. The controversy is heating up and it’s all because of Speaker Mike Johnson’s strategy to combine several bills into one big rule.

Biden, in a statement, insisted that the House must pass the package, and the Senate should quickly follow suit. He’s all about supporting our friends and sending a message to the world that we won’t let Iran or Russia succeed. That’s a lot of dough for a lot of places. And according to reports, Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer is pretty pleased with how things are going.

But not everyone is feeling the love for this package. Some Republicans, like Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Andy Biggs, and Matt Gaetz, are not on board with Johnson’s rule. They see it as a bad strategic choice and a total surrender. And Rep. Thomas Massie even cosponsored a motion to vacate the chair against Johnson. There’s some serious drama brewing on Capitol Hill, and it looks like it’s far from over.
