In yet another display of weakness from the Biden administration, the United States has threatened to withdraw support from Israel if they continue their crucial efforts to defend themselves from unprovoked attacks. This alarming development comes as Israel continues its necessary counterattack in Gaza, with the administration brazenly warning Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to dial down the war or risk losing U.S. backing.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken, in typical fumbling fashion, condemned an Israeli strike that tragically resulted in the deaths of seven humanitarian workers from the World Central Kitchen. Despite Israel Defense Forces Chief of the General Staff LTG Herzi Halevi acknowledging the incident as a “grave mistake” and offering a sincere apology, Blinken found it appropriate to publicly scold Israel, insisting that such incidents “must be the last.”
But the true kicker comes from Biden himself, who during a phone call with Netanyahu, expressed his discontent with the attack on humanitarian workers and called for an “immediate ceasefire.” This type of rhetoric is utterly disheartening – it gives the impression that the U.S. is ready to cut and run, a characteristic that Biden has unfortunately exhibited in his political career.
It’s one thing to hold Israel accountable for unfortunate casualties, but it’s entirely different to publicly threaten to withdraw support if they don’t meet the administration’s demands. The casualties incurred in any war are undoubtedly tragic, but this kind of wavering stance from the Biden administration only serves to portray weakness and instability on the world stage.
Ultimately, this latest display of spinelessness from the Biden administration does nothing but undermine our relationship with a crucial ally, and it’s a clear example of the president’s lack of resolve and principles. It is high time that the U.S. projected strength and unwavering support for its allies, but with Biden at the helm, it seems that Israel could end up worse off for having placed their trust in him.
