Like most politicians, Joe Biden lies to make himself look good and avoid responsibility for his actions. However, this time, he was caught lying. Biden had been lying for years and admitted to a major mistake.
According to The Washington Examiner, Biden made an embarrassing confession regarding his past. He said that he never got arrested while he was visiting Nelson Mandela in prison.
During a meeting with South Africa's President Cyril Ramaphosa, Biden reflected on his time meeting with Nelson Mandela. He said that he never got arrested, but he stopped.
In response to the allegations, Biden's office released a statement saying that the president's claim that he was arrested during a trip to Lesotho in 1976 was not true. It also stated that he was separated from other members of Congress during the trip. The New York Post reported that a member of the delegation disputed the statement.
Over the years, Biden has claimed that he was arrested while he was trying to visit Mandela in the 1970s. In 2020, while campaigning for the presidency, he made the claim during a speech in South Carolina.

In Nevada, Biden made the same statement. The president has a history of sharing false statements in order to connect with his base. For instance, he claimed that he was arrested during the civil rights protests, and he visited the Tree of Life after the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting. Despite his confession, Biden still managed to get away with lying about other things.
