Palestinian militants have been getting their hands on U.S. weapons left behind in Afghanistan as a result of President Biden’s disastrous withdrawal, and they are using them to attack our dear allies in Israel. This alarming information comes straight from a high-ranking Israel Defense Forces (IDF) commander who spoke to Newsweek. Yes, folks, you heard it right – the very weapons meant to protect Americans have now ended up in the hands of those who seek to harm our friends in the Gaza Strip.

But that’s not all. This commander also expressed concern over the diversion of weapons provided by the U.S. and other Western nations to Ukraine. It seems that these weapons, instead of falling into the hands of our allies in Eastern Europe, are finding their way to Israel’s enemies in the Middle East, including Iran. This is yet another example of U.S. arms shipments going astray, empowering adversaries of both the U.S. and Israel. It’s truly alarming how Western governments seem to focus more on conflicts in Eastern Europe than on the threat posed by these diverted weapons.
To make matters worse, Taliban commanders are making a pretty penny by selling and smuggling these U.S. weapons out of Afghanistan. The IDF commander even reported spotting U.S. small arms among Palestinian groups. The extent of this diversion is hard to determine, as the IDF’s primary focus is on the Middle East. But rest assured, this situation is very dangerous for Israel. The commander highlighted two major concerns: the potential for these militants to learn how to manufacture these weapons, especially Iran, and the fear that Hezbollah and Hamas might get their grubby hands on them too.
I hate to say it, but this is just another failure on the part of the Biden administration. A recent Pentagon report revealed that $7 billion worth of military equipment provided to the Afghan government fell into the hands of the Taliban after Biden’s hasty withdrawal. It’s a shame to see these U.S. weapons, paid for by hardworking American taxpayers, being misused and ending up in the hands of our enemies.
Of course, the State Department tried to downplay the risk, but let’s face it, they messed up big time. Even they had to admit that in any war, there’s a risk of weapons being captured if territory changes hands. Well, thanks to Biden’s disastrous withdrawal, territory did change hands, and now our enemies are armed with U.S. weapons. Nice going, Biden.
It’s high time we have leadership that prioritizes the safety and security of our allies. We need someone in the White House who can handle foreign policy with competence and ensure that our weapons are not falling into the wrong hands. Until then, we can only hope that Israel remains safe while dealing with these unfortunate consequences of Biden’s blunders.
