Cotton Open to VP Role Under Trump, Awaits Convention Decision

Sen. Tom Cotton is open to the idea of being the vice president to former President Donald Trump. The Republican National Convention, where the announcement is usually made, is getting closer.

Cotton, who is from Arkansas, shared his thoughts on the matter during an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.” He expressed that if the president asks you to serve in any role for the country, it is something to consider. Cotton also mentioned that he believes President Trump will make a good decision for the country when he is ready to decide on his vice president.

The senator stated that he would be open to any position that President Trump offered him. However, he expressed contentment in his current role as a senator representing the people of Arkansas. Cotton emphasized that he is focused on supporting President Trump and electing a majority in Congress to address the challenges created by Joe Biden and the Democrats in the last four years.

While Cotton is reportedly being considered for the position, there are others whose names have been mentioned as potential vice presidential candidates, including senators J.D. Vance, Marco Rubio, and Tim Scott, as well as representatives Elise Stefanik and Byron Donalds, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.

Former President Trump has indicated that he will likely announce his running mate at the Republican National Convention, scheduled to take place from July 15-18 in Milwaukee. This announcement has generated significant interest as the event approaches.
