DHS Approves Work Permit for Accused Murderer Under Biden Admin

In a shocking turn of events, the Department of Homeland Security, under the leadership of President Joe Biden, approved a work permit for a Venezuelan man accused of murdering a young woman, despite his prior criminal history. How did this happen, you ask? Let’s dive into the details.

The accused, Jose Antonio Ibarra, was granted parole at the United States-Mexico border, citing “detention capacity” as the reason for his release. But hold on a minute, folks. It turns out that there were about 8,100 available detention beds at the time Ibarra was encountered at the border, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data. So, what gives?

Fast forward to July 19, 2023, when Ibarra reported for a biometric appointment in New York City and was fingerprinted. Lo and behold, his fingerprints revealed a prior criminal history. Shockingly, just a few months later, Ibarra applied for a work permit with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and guess what? His application was approved on December 9, 2023.

And the plot thickens. Less than three months after securing the work permit, Ibarra was charged with the murder of Laken Riley, a 22-year-old woman who was found bludgeoned to death after going for a jog around the University of Georgia campus. Absolutely devastating.

Senator Josh Hawley, along with other Republican senators, grilled DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over this egregious mishandling of the case. Hawley pointed out that Ibarra was permitted into the country under grounds blatantly contradictory to the law, committed a crime against a child, and then, unbelievably, got a work permit before allegedly committing the heinous crime against Laken Riley.

This is a prime example of the Biden administration’s failure to uphold the law and protect American citizens. The system is broken, folks, and it’s high time for some serious accountability.

The Department of Homeland Security’s decision-making process in this case raises serious concerns about public safety and the security of our borders. The tragic loss of Laken Riley should never have happened, and it’s clear that the Biden administration’s leniency towards criminals is putting innocent lives at risk.

The American people deserve better, and it’s up to our elected officials to ensure that our immigration policies prioritize the safety and well-being of American citizens. It’s time to hold the Biden administration accountable for their reckless actions and demand real solutions to prevent such tragic incidents from occurring in the future.
